Excited to see the new space and what you do with it. I’m also starting all over this year at a new house - good to get a reset and not make some of the same mistakes, as you said.
Thanks for sharing this, Thomas! We are about to move as well and I find I resonate with a lot of your learnings and want to scale back a bit and be more realistic. So hard to not dream up a garden that in reality would take a staff to maintain! I really appreciate the compost conundrum and think we will switch to a local company who takes your waste then gives you back compost versus managing our own. Or perhaps explore a keyhole bed design to incorporate compost directly into raised beds, but have more exploring to do on that topic.
Thanks for sharing all of these insights! It's been fun to follow along on your garden journey and I'm excited to see how it evolves in your new home. I'll be referring back to this post when we start work on our yard / garden - thanks again!
Great lessons and advice! Curbing the spring fever is definitely a difficult one for me too, I am going to work on less is more. I also need to figure out which soaker hose to purchase and get our window box watering automated. 🌿
Thomas this is so amazing! I love your content so much! Also I miss nimble garden! Please keep sharing and please keep sharing grades articles!! You’re the best!
Great article! I can relate to a lottt of these. Especially coming from the Central Valley also where everything basically thrives- east coast/southern climate is a whole different beast. It takes a lot of tweaking and learning!!!
This could not have come at a more perfect time! Setting up my first raised bed at the moment and I have no idea what I’m doing but loving all that I’m learning so far.
This was great. I loved your garden follow along a few years ago. I learned so much and relate to so much of what you wrote!!

Working on my spring garden now & this was full of wisdom! Would you mind sharing your favorite source for seeds - vegetable & flowers ? Thank you!!
So many good seed suppliers. Love Eden, park, high mowing, rare seeds
