Back with another round of things I’m into this week—some new finds, some old favorites, and a little bit of everything in between. Let’s get into it.
1. The Viral Lip Stain That’s Worth the Hype
I finally tried this viral lip stain, and I’m obsessed. My favorite shade is “xoxo”—I leave it on for about 45 seconds, line my lips with Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk, and finish with Victoria Beckham’s Lip Gloss in Bungalow. This combo is perfect, and I don’t see myself switching it up anytime soon.
2. Getting Creative in the Kitchen
We just started buying from The Twenty Bag CSA, and it’s been such a fun way to experiment with vegetables. Unlike most CSAs, it’s not a subscription, so we can skip weeks when we know we won’t be cooking much. Perfect for our unpredictable schedules.
3. The Sweetest Spring Picks from Boden Kids
Boden’s new spring collection is too good. I couldn’t resist this cherry print and this adorable dress for my girls. Their pieces always hit that perfect balance of playful and classic.
4. My Favorite Matcha, Courtesy of Second State
This is my absolute favorite matcha blend from our local coffee shop, Second State—it’s mixed with ginger tea and just a touch of sugar. I look forward to making my morning matcha latte every day. Here’s how we make it at home:
Pour 5 ounces of 175°F water into our milk frother (we have an older version of this frother) set to cold froth.
After about a minute of whisking, strain through a fine mesh strainer to catch any larger spice pieces.
Rinse the frother, then add 5 ounces of milk of choice (I love Unsweetened Almond MALK since it has no sugar) and set to the hot milk setting.
Pour over the matcha and enjoy. Simple and perfect!
5. The Let Them Theory—Exactly What I Needed
Per the internet’s recommendation, I bought The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins. It’s been a game-changer in my mindset and perspective—just what I needed this week.
6. Buttery Yellow for Spring—Yes, Please
I keep gravitating toward buttery yellow for spring, and this Doen cardigan sealed the deal for me. It’s the perfect balance of warmth and lightness—ideal for this time of year.
7. The Restaurants We Ate At This Week
Our restaurant lineup over the past week: Costa, Beautiful South, and Marbled and Fin. These are some of our go-tos, and I’m already looking forward to going back.
8. Crown Affair’s New Launch Has Me Hooked
Crown Affair just released their Hydrating Shampoo and Volumizing Conditioner, and I’m officially obsessed. The formulas are perfection—hydrating but lightweight, and they make my hair feel amazing. Use my code JULIAB15 for 15% off! Their Dry Shampoo is one of my favorite all-time hair products.
9. The Schiaparelli Show Left Me Speechless
It’s Spring Haute Couture Week in Paris, and my jaw literally dropped watching videos and photos from the Schiaparelli show. Every look was an absolute masterpiece—a true work of art.
10. My Breakfast Obsession of the Month
I’m a total creature of habit when it comes to food. When I love something, I eat it on repeat. Lately, it’s been this granola with this coconut protein yogurt, topped with whatever berries we have in the fridge. It’s my go-to post-workout breakfast, and I don’t see myself getting tired of it anytime soon.
That’s a wrap on this week’s whims! Let me know what’s catching your eye this week—I love hearing from you. See you next week for more!
xx Julia
Hi’ I’m heading to Charleston for Mothers Day weekend. I am currently gluten free due to Chronic Lyme Disease. I was wondering if you had any luck finding good gluten free pasta while you were out to eat in Charleston or any restaurants that were good for gluten free in general? Thank you!
It has blown my mind how many times I’ve thought “let them” since learning about it and listening to Mel speak on it. Truly game changing, the volume of mental space we free up, no?? Great roundup! 💜
