Chrome extensions are one of the best productivity hacks available—they help automate tasks, simplify workflows, and ultimately make life better. The best ones save time or streamline key business functions, turning frustrating or repetitive tasks into effortless actions. Over the years, I’ve tested dozens—some have become permanent staples in my workflow, while others were useful for just one project before fading into obscurity. Here are the Chrome extensions I rely on the most, plus a few that have proven invaluable for specific tasks.
The Extensions I Use the Most
1. Loom – The Ultimate Time Saver
Loom has been a game-changer. It eliminates the need for endless Slack messages, emails, or even meetings by allowing me to record quick videos to explain something visually. Whether it’s giving feedback, sharing walkthroughs, or explaining something complex, Loom cuts down on unnecessary back-and-forth.
2. Table Capture – Spreadsheet Power Move
If you use spreadsheets a lot, this extension is a must-have. It lets you grab data from a table on any webpage and either export it as a file or copy it to your clipboard. I use it to quickly pull analytics from Substack and other platforms without manually copying and pasting data. It comes in handy because a surprising amount of analytics dashboards don't have export functions.
3. Imageye – Image Downloader
This one gets used all the time. It pulls up every image from a webpage and lets you download them in bulk, which is perfect for repurposing content. We’ve used it extensively when going back through our website to gather images for Substack posts.
4. Dashlane – The Password Manager I’ve Used for a Decade
A lot of people use password managers, and this one has been my go-to for 10 years. It stores passwords securely, auto-fills logins, and even generates strong passwords when needed. If you haven’t committed to a password manager yet, this is worth considering.
5. YouTube Summary with ChatGPT – Speed Up Learning
If you love learning on YouTube but don’t always have time to watch long videos, this extension is a huge timesaver. It takes the transcript from a video and sends it to ChatGPT, which then summarizes the key points. This makes it way easier to retain information or reference something later.
6. Scribe – SOPs Made Easy
More of a business-related tool, but a powerful one. Scribe automatically creates step-by-step instructions for any process you do on the web. It’s great for onboarding team members to new tasks or documenting workflows without manually writing out instructions.
7. ColorPick Eyedropper – Instant Color Matching
A simple but effective tool that helps grab colors from any webpage. It’s great for maintaining brand consistency or when I’m trying to match an aesthetic quickly.
8. Full Page Screen Capture – When a Screenshot Isn’t Enough
Sometimes, you need a screenshot of an entire webpage—not just what’s visible on the screen. This extension is perfect for capturing full-length pages, whether for research, documentation, or reference.
9. Open Multiple URLs & Extract Links from Page – Batch Processing
If I need to open a ton of links at once or extract all the links from a webpage, these two extensions save a ridiculous amount of time. We collaborate a lot as a team sending links back and forth and this helps not have to go one by one.
10. Clear Cookies – A Simple But Necessary Tool
If you spend a lot of time online, especially running a website or business, clearing cookies is sometimes necessary. This extension makes it super easy to reset your session without going through your browser settings.
One-Time-Use Extensions
Some extensions are useful for a single project but don’t warrant a permanent spot in my browser.

How I Discover New Chrome Extensions
Exploring the Chrome Extension Store – Every few months, I’ll scroll through and see if anything catches my eye. This one I found today is pretty cool. A recipe extraction tool that removes the unnecessary blog story and jumps straight to the actual recipe.
Product Hunt – Many new tools I find here often have accompanying Chrome extensions.
Problem-Specific Searches – If something is frustrating me, I go looking for a tool to fix it. That’s how I found Table Capture and Imageye.
Final Thoughts
Chrome extensions can be huge time savers when used correctly. Some are everyday essentials, while others are situational problem-solvers.
