From Idea to App: Present Planner Is Officially Live

From our family to yours: built to make holiday gifting less overwhelming

Today we are launching our first ever app, Present Planner.

Let me tell you how Present Planner came to life— because honestly, it started with Julia’s challenge to me. Every year, we love the holidays, but we also end up feeling stressed about sticking to a budget while also trying to be generous. Julia asked if I could make a spreadsheet to keep our gift planning on track, and—well—one thing led to another!

I teamed up with my friend Chloe Digital to turn that “simple spreadsheet” into something a lot more powerful—an app we call Present Planner. What started as a tool for ourselves is now something anyone can use to make holiday gifting less overwhelming and more thoughtfully organized.

So here’s what it does:

It all started with the Budget Planner page

• You set your total holiday budget.

• You can rank each person on your list by priority (high, medium, low).

• It automatically allocates that budget based on priority. You can tweak the budgets anyway you like.

• And you get curated gift suggestions that actually match your budget.

After building budget it was clear we needed to add gifting that matched each person’s budget.
